14 March 2025- CALAPAN, ORIENTAL MINDORO. In alignment with the government's push for the full adoption of the National ID System, automotive establishments across Oriental Mindoro now officially recognize the National ID as a primary form of identification for purchasing vehicles.

This move aims to simplify transactions, enhance security, and provide greater convenience to customers who may not have access to other government-issued IDs. The decision follows guidelines set by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), which highlight the National ID’s validity for both public and private transactions.

“We fully support the use of the National ID as a primary identification document,” said Mr. John Demcent Valdez, Motorcycle Registration Clerk of Des Marketing Inc.- Calapan. “This initiative will make it easier for our customers to comply with purchase requirements while also strengthening identity verification processes.”

With the National ID now widely accepted, auto buyers in Oriental Mindoro are encouraged to present their National ID when making transactions at authorized dealerships. This policy applies to both cash purchases and installment financing agreements.

Automotive dealers across the province have committed to ensuring a smooth transition by training staff and updating internal policies to align with this development.
