PhilSys Team Goes the Extra Mile: Nighttime Registration Extends Access for Sitio Pandanan Residents

Date of release: August 09, 2024
Reference No. 2024PR-36

09 August 2024 - Abra De Ilog, Occidental Mindoro. In a heartfelt effort to ensure that every member of Sitio Pandanan, Brgy. Tibag, Abra De Ilog has the opportunity to be part of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has extended registration hours, even into the night. This initiative highlights the dedication and compassion of the PhilSys team, who worked beyond typical hours to serve the local community.

Recognizing the challenges faced by residents in accessing services during regular hours, the PhilSys team made a concerted effort to accommodate everyone’s needs. Over this extended period, a total of 108 individuals were successfully registered into the PhilSys database, with 8 Electronic PhilIDs (ePhilIDs) issued to those who requested them. In addition, those with mobile phones were also assisted in accessing their digital national IDs.

This extension wasn’t just about ticking boxes—it was about meeting people where they are. The team’s decision to work late into the night was driven by a genuine desire to make sure no one was left out. The PhilSys initiative is more than just a registration process; it’s about creating a system that is accessible and beneficial to everyone.

The PhilSys project aims to provide a single, secure identification system for all Filipinos, simplifying access to essential services and improving the efficiency of public service delivery. By extending registration hours, the PhilSys team is demonstrating their commitment to inclusivity and community service.
