Release Date:
Reference Number: 2025-PR-004

15 January 2025 - ORIENTAL MINDORO. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) of Oriental Mindoro is continuing the National ID registration for children under five years old, including infants from zero months to four years old. This initiative is part of the government’s effort to ensure that every Filipino, regardless of age, is included in the National ID system. The National ID provides essential access to government services, healthcare, education, and more, ensuring that even the youngest citizens are well-represented.

Parents and guardians of children aged zero to four years are encouraged to bring their children to the registration centers to complete the process. For children under the age of five, biometric data such as fingerprints and iris recognition will not be collected, but the registration will focus on capturing the child’s personal information. This includes the child’s full name, date of birth and other supporting documents like the child’s birth certificate. Parents or guardians will also need to present their own National ID that has been issued to them.

"I’m happy to share that my baby’s National ID registration was completed, ensuring access to government services and benefits. As a parent, I feel secure knowing my child’s identity is officially recognized. The process was easy, and the staff was helpful and accommodating throughout. The National ID is a crucial step for my child’s future and a symbol of their right to government services. I encourage other parents to register their children as it is an investment in their future and a vital part of national progress" Ms. Jennie B. Brotonel said.

Starting 20 January 2025, PSO Oriental Mindoro will begin the continuous mobile registration for the National ID in the municipalities of Puerto Galera, Baco, Naujan, Socorro, Bansud, Bongabong, and Bulalacao. To ensure a convenient registration process, registration centers will be set up in various locations throughout the province. Parents and guardians are encouraged to take this opportunity to register their children, ensuring they are included in the National ID system, which will simplify future access to government services and benefits.

Meanwhile, the Fixed Registration Center in Calapan City continues to offer National ID registration, along with services such as updating and correcting demographic information for all applicants. This initiative is designed to make the registration process more accessible and efficient, ensuring that all Filipinos can easily access government services and benefits. Residents are encouraged to visit for registration and other related services.
