27 AUGUST 2024 – INO, MOGPOG, MARINDUQUE. On 27 August 2024, PSA-Marinduque, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Mogpog, conducted a successful Mobile Registration Services event in Barangay Ino, Mogpog, Marinduque. This initiative, organized by the Mogpog Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO), was held at the Barangay Hall, providing residents with convenient access to essential registration services.
BRC Shiela Mae Matining, together with Mogpog LCRO staff Hannah Ditan, provided valuable assistance to individuals needing to register their birth records who were not yet included in the PSA database. As a result, Certificates of Live Birth (COLBs) were issued for three individuals after meeting the requirements for delayed registration. The event also featured the distribution of informative leaflets on civil registration, aimed at enhancing attendees' understanding of the registration process. This initiative reflects PSA-Marinduque’s and LGU-Mogpog’s ongoing commitment in making vital registration services more accessible and to increase public awareness.
Launched in 2022, the Birth Registration Assistance Project is a key initiative of the PSA aimed at enhancing civil registration across the country. The project focuses on increasing registration rates, particularly in marginalized communities, including Indigenous Peoples, Muslim Filipinos, and the poorest sectors. By facilitating the issuance of PhilIDs, the project helps these groups secure their social benefits and legal identities, providing a crucial gateway to essential services and rights.
