
BOAC, MARINDUQUE– PSA-Marinduque PSO, in partnership with the LGU of Boac, has successfully awarded the Certificates of Live Birth to seven beneficiaries of BRAP. A successful initiative of Boac LCRO, the awarding ceremony was held in Barangay Duyay, Boac on 19 April 2024. BRC Shiela Mae Matining, Boac LCRO personnel ROII Via Maria Malapote, AAVI Lydia Semilla and staff, together with Duyay Sangguniang Barangay members, were present in the awarding ceremony to personally hand-over the much-awaited documents to the six beneficiaries of the said project.
Marline Manlapas Villar, (middle, above photo) 63 years old, born on March 7, 1961 in Baleno, Masbate, and resident of Barangay Duyay, Boac, is one of the senior citizens who received her PSA-issued Birth Certificate. She was thankful and happy at the same time because she has finally secured a copy of her Birth Certificate.
In addition, another awarding of PSA-issued Birth Certificate was conducted in Barangay Balaring, Boac. Cecilia Monteclaro Malabayabas, 66 years old, a resident of the said barangay, is also a senior citizen beneficiary of BRAP, who also received a copy of Certificate of Live Birth in Security Paper (SECPA) through her daughter.
PBRAP was implemented in the country to ensure that all births of Filipinos are registered in the Local Civil Registry Offices and that they will be enrolled with the PhilSys National Identification System. As of 2023, there are 147 target beneficiaries allotted to be registered in the Municipality of Boac, Hence, PSA Marinduque, together with LCRO of Boac, is conducting Mobile Registration activities in different barangays in Boac to ensure that all unregister births will be registered to the concerned PSO/LCRO.
