This report provides an overview of vital statistics in Marinduque Province, detailing registered live births, marriages, and deaths from January to April 2024. Provisional as of 31 August 2024, by the Provincial Statistical Office in partnership with the six Local Civil Registry Offices (LCRO), the data offers a comprehensive look into the province's demographic trends.
The report reflects ongoing efforts to ensure precise and reliable record-keeping. These statistics are invaluable for policymakers, researchers, and community leaders, serving as a foundation for informed decisions and effective community planning. It highlights the critical role of accurate demographic data in guiding strategies and initiatives for future development.
Registered Live Births
In the first four months of 2024, Marinduque Province recorded a total of 517 live births. January had the highest number, with 206 births, marking a strong start for the year, while April saw the lowest, with only 36 births, highlighting a significant decline over the months (Figure 1). Of these, 50.9 percent were males (263) and 49.1 percent were females (254), reflecting a nearly balanced gender ratio (Figure 2). These figures provide valuable insights into monthly birth trends and the gender distribution during this period.
Registered Marriages
From January to April 2024, a total of 211 marriages were registered in Marinduque Province. January recorded the highest number of marriages, with 73, reflecting a strong start for the year and potentially aligning with favorable societal or cultural preferences for weddings during this month. In contrast, March saw the lowest number, with only 39 marriages. This fluctuation in marriage registrations across the months, is presented in Figure 3.
Registered Deaths
From January to April 2024, a total of 565 deaths were registered in Marinduque Province. Of these, 315 were males, accounting for 55.8 percent of the total, while 250 were females, making up 44.2 percent. January recorded the highest number of deaths, with 161 fatalities, while April saw the lowest with 122. The number of deaths per month can be seen in Figure 4, and the percentage distribution by sex is shown in Figure 5. These figures provide valuable insights into mortality trends and demographic patterns in the province.
Total Vital Events
The total of all registered vital events—births, marriages, and deaths—in Marinduque Province from January to April 2024 amounts to 1,293. This includes 517 live births, 211 marriages, and 565 deaths. The combined total of these vital events is presented in Figure 6, offering a comprehensive view of demographic activity in the province during this period.
These figures reflect the ongoing population dynamics and societal trends within the province, providing essential data for policymakers and researchers. By examining the relative proportions of each event, we can gain insights into the province's demographic health, family structures, and overall trends in population growth and decline. The data is crucial for planning community services, healthcare, and other vital public initiatives.
The partnership between Marinduque's Local Civil Registry Offices and the PSA Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office plays a crucial role in maintaining precise and thorough records of vital events. This diligent documentation of births, marriages, and deaths reflects a strong commitment to sustaining accurate demographic data.
