16 June 2024 – MARINDUQUE PROVINCIAL STATISTICAL OFFICE. The PSA-Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) held a press conference at the Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office in Boac, Marinduque, unveiling detailed data regarding the recent inflation report impacting the province in June 2024.

The event was attended by various stakeholders, including local government officials and members of the media. Chief Statistical Specialist Ms. Gemma N. Opis, commenced the conference with an overview of the economic situation, highlighting key factors contributing to inflation in the province.

CSS Opis has reported a significant decrease in the inflation rate to 0.5 percent in June, with the average inflation rate for the province at 1.4 percent from January to June. The report highlighted deceleration indeces in categories like food, non-alcoholic beverages, transportation, and personal care, and miscellaneous goods and services as primary contributors to the inflationary pattern. Additionally, there was a slight increase in the Purchasing Power of Peso to Php 0.77 during this period.

The event culminated in an interactive session in which participants, including representatives from local government bodies, members of the press, and the public, engaged in a dynamic Q&A session and shared feedback. This effort by the PSA-Marinduque PSO underscores its dedication to transparency and community involvement, promoting an informed and engaged citizenry.
