29 MAY 2024 - SANTA CRUZ, MARINDUQUE. PSA Marinduque PSO, in partnership with LCRO Santa Cruz, successfully completed Mobile Registration in Barangay Lapu-Lapu on 29 May 2024. ROI Mary Michelle M. Macutong and Birth Registration Coordinator Shiela Mae D. Matining, together with Santa Cruz LCRO personnel Cristituto Quimora, prepared birth certificates for individuals whose birth records were verified not available in the PSA database. Lapu-Lapu Barangay Secretary Marites Orijuela also prepared Certification of Indigency as well as Barangay Certification, as these documents are two of the necessary requirements for the delayed registration. Some registrants were born outside of the province, thus their documents will be transmitted and processed by the appropriate PSO/LCRO for subsequent registration. Leaflets regarding civil registration were also distributed to the residents present on that day.
This undertaking is a joint project of PSA Marinduque, PSA RSSO-MIMAROPA and Santa Cruz LGU, which aims to increase the level of civil registration especially in marginalized communities such as those belonging to the Indigenous Peoples, Muslim Filipinos, and the poorest sector in the country and ensuring that they have their PhilIDs issued which is a gateway for them to claim their social benefits and legal identities.
