Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) conducted orientation on the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS) Barangay Profile Questionnaire (BPQ) Data Collection, Service Facilities and Government Project (SFGP) Listing in Boac Municipality. The event was held at ABC Hall, Municipal Building, Brgy. Isok I, Boac, Marinduque on 14 May 2024.
The representatives from each barangay in the Municipality of Boac, along with representatives from the Municipal LGU, attended the training session. The main goal of the orientation was to provide participants with the essential knowledge and skills needed to collect precise and thorough data crucial for community planning and development.
The training was led by the CBMS Focal Person and Senior Statistical Specialist, Imelda M. Miciano, together with Team Supervisor Mazee Marciano and Statistical Researcher Eden Mendros. Key topics covered during the orientation included the objectives and importance of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS, detailed instructions on filling out the Barangay Profile Questionnaire, and guidelines for listing service facilities and government projects. Interactive sessions and practical demonstrations were also conducted to ensure that all attendees were well-prepared for the upcoming census activities.
The PSA Marinduque PSO emphasized the significance of community cooperation and active participation in the census. PSA personnel highlighted how the collected data would serve as a vital tool for identifying local needs, allocating resources, and formulating policies that would benefit the residents of the Municipality.
Moreover, concerns and questions raised by the representatives of the barangay were also addressed during the interactive sessions. These discussions provided an opportunity for attendees to clarify doubts and share insights, fostering a collaborative atmosphere.
As the orientation concluded, the participants expressed their readiness and commitment to perform their roles diligently, understanding that their efforts would contribute to the overall progress and development of their community.
