PSA- Marinduque PSO conducted Training Orientation on the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS BPQ Data Collection, Service Facilities and Government Projects Listing in the Municipality of Torrijos on 15 May 2024 at Liga Hall, Old Municipal Building, Poblacion, Torrijos, Marinduque.

The training was led by the CBMS Focal Person and Senior Statistical Specialist, Imelda M. Miciano, together with Information Systems Analyst I Sonny Jr. De la Cruz and Statistical Researcher Jeni Lumen Maldonado. Attendees were comprised of barangay personnel from the Municipality of Torrijos, alongside with staff from the Municipal LGU.

Key topics covered during the orientation included the importance of comprehensive data collection in shaping local policies, the role of service facilities in community development, and the significance of accurate listing of government projects to track progress and allocate resources effectively. The training also emphasized ethical considerations and the importance of maintaining confidentiality and respect for respondents throughout the data collection process.

Participants had the opportunity to engage in hands-on exercises, group discussions, and Q&A sessions, fostering a collaborative learning environment. By the end of the session, attendees expressed increased confidence in their abilities to carry out their responsibilities and contribute to the success of the 2024 Census of Population and Housing (POPCEN) and the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) in Torrijos.
