19 AUGUST 2024 – MARINDUQUE PROVINCIAL STATISTICAL OFFICE. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) has effectively completed the survey on retail prices of selected commodities and services for the month of August 2024.
This initiative aims to gather crucial data needed for the generation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI), an essential economic indicator that reflects the average change over time in the prices paid by consumers for a market basket of consumer goods and services.
To facilitate the data collection regarding the prices of particular goods and services, the PSA-Marinduque PSO enlisted the assistance of six Statistical Researchers (SRs). These researchers were assigned the responsibility of visiting six specified outlets throughout the province to accomplish the survey, which are divided into two phases: the initial phase took place from August 1-5, 2024, followed by the second phase from August 15-17, 2024.
The results from this survey will provide valuable insights into the inflationary trends within the province, helping policymakers, businesses, and consumers make informed decisions. By understanding the fluctuations in the costs of goods and services, the PSA aims to support economic planning and social development initiatives that can improve the standard of living for the people of Marinduque.
Furthermore, the PSA-Marinduque PSO is committed to transparency and will publish the findings in a detailed report, accessible to the public and stakeholders. This report will not only present the statistical outcomes but also provide context and analysis to help interpret the data effectively.
