The Philippine Statistics Authority Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office organized a consultative forum to discuss the updates in civil registration with LGU officials and personnel.

In an initiative to strengthen partnerships and enhance the collaboration between local government units and the PSA in ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient civil registration processes, the Philippine Statistics Authority Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) hosted a consultative forum on the updates in civil registration on 09 July 2024, held at CSM Events and Business Place Rental, Marketsite, Mogpog, Marinduque.

The event was attended by various stakeholders, including municipal civil registrars, local government officials, and representatives from different municipalities. The forum aimed to foster a deeper understanding of the recent changes in civil registration policies and practices, ensuring that local government units are well-equipped to implement these updates effectively.

Key speakers at the forum featured Ms. Leni R. Rioflorido, Regional Director, who provided insights into the recent developments concerning civil registration regulations, particularly focusing on the delayed registration process. Additionally, Ms. Gemma N. Opis, Chief Statistical Specialist, elaborated on the latest updates pertaining to the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP).

The forum also provided an open floor for an interactive Q&A session, allowing participants to raise their concerns and seek clarifications directly from the experts. This segment was particularly beneficial, as it facilitated a two-way dialogue that helped address specific challenges faced by different municipalities.

The event concluded with a commitment from all attendees to continuously improve civil registration services in their areas. By working together, the PSA and LGUs aim to ensure that every citizen's vital events are recorded accurately and promptly, thereby upholding the integrity of the national civil registry system.

Overall, the consultative forum was a significant step forward in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of civil registration in Marinduque, paving the way for better public service delivery and governance.
