
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) took the proactive step of initiating the 2nd Quarter Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) meeting on 21 May 2024 at Governor’s Hall, Provincial Capitol, Bangbangalon, Boac, Marinduque.
During the session, the PSC members engaged in dynamic discussions on various pertinent topics aimed at enhancing data dissemination mechanisms and optimizing survey operations with the presence of the PSC Chairperson EnP. Marian Cunanan, who presided the event.
Among the key highlights was the proposal to establish a dedicated Facebook Group Chat (GC) as a platform for swift and efficient dissemination of information. This initiative underscores PSA Marinduque PSO's and PSC’s dedication to harnessing modern communication tools to facilitate broader public access to essential statistical data.
Furthermore, the meeting provided a valuable forum for the sharing of insights and updates on PSA's ongoing and forthcoming surveys presented by the Vice-Chairperson of the PSC and PSA-Marinduque PSO’s Chief Statistical Specialist Gemma N. Opis.
In addition, CSS Opis provided the attendees with updates on the PhilSys registration in Marinduque. This collaborative exchange of information not only fosters greater cohesion among stakeholders but also ensures the seamless execution of survey initiatives vital to informed policymaking and planning.

Building upon the momentum of the PSC meeting, PSA-Marinduque PSO proceeded to convene the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS) Coordinating Board. This assembly served as a platform for stakeholders to delve into the overarching framework, objectives, and timeline of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS project. Throughout the discussions, participants underscored the critical importance of the POPCEN-CBMS initiative in capturing accurate demographic and socioeconomic data at the grassroots level. The project aims to provide comprehensive insights essential for evidence-based policymaking, resource allocation, and development planning. CSS Opis provided updates on the current progress of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS, including the Barangay Profile Questionnaire (BPQ) Data Collection and Service Facilities and Government Project (SFGP) Listing.
The collaborative spirit and unwavering commitment demonstrated during the meeting of the PSC and the POPCEN-CBMS Coordinating Board underscore PSA-Marinduque PSO's dedication to advancing statistical excellence and empowering communities through data-driven initiatives.
