GASAN, MARINDUQUE. Fifteen individuals in the Municipality of Gasan finally secured their Birth Certificates in Security Paper (SecPa) thru the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP).

PSA Marinduque PSO, together with Gasan LCRO, awarded the PSA-issued Birth Certificates in the five barangays in Gasan last 24, 25 and 30 of April 2024. BRC Shiela Mae Matining, along with Gasan MCR Maria Sofia R. Madronio, personally awarded the Certificates of Live Birth in Security Paper (COLB on SECPA) to the fifteen beneficiaries of BRAP during the LGU’s Ugnayan sa Barangay activity. Gasan Municipal Mayor Rolando O. Tolentino was also present in the said events. 

The recipients of the said documents were from several barangays in Gasan such as Pangi, Tabionan, Bognuyan, Tiguion, and Mahunig. Some of the beneficiaries were born outside the province, and one of them is Jennylyn Gomugda Marcelino, 38 years old, born on November 17, 1985 in Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat, and a resident of Barangay Tabionan, Gasan. The registration process was completed thru Out-of-Town Reporting of Delayed Registration between LCRO Gasan, Marinduque and LCRO Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat.

This program, launched on February 2022, aims to register the birth records and issue free birth certificates to members of marginalized communities, Indigenous People, Muslim Filipinos, the poorest sector of the country, persons currently living outside their birth place, and senior citizens. And with the strong support of the Local Government Unit of Gasan, through the LCRO, to this project, a total of 131 beneficiaries have been successfully registered in their respective PSOs/LCROs.
