10 October 2024 – TORRIJOS, MARINDUQUE. In celebration of the 35th National Statistics Month (NSM), the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Marinduque, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Torrijos and the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of Torrijos, successfully launched its first campus stop for the NSM School Tour at Poctoy National High School on 10 October 2024. This event marked a significant step in promoting statistical literacy and awareness among young learners.

The event featured various activities, including an exhibit showcasing infographics that visually represented key statistical data and trends, thereby making complex information more accessible and enhancing students' appreciation of statistics in everyday life.

A highlight of the program was the Statistics Quiz, led by Supervising Statistical Specialist Orlando Mercene, where students actively participated, showcasing their growing interest and understanding of basic statistical concepts. The quiz offered an engaging, interactive way for students to apply their knowledge, helping to deepen their connection to the subject.

The NSM School Tour aims to cultivate statistical awareness and literacy among students, equipping them with essential knowledge that will empower them to understand and engage with data critically. By bringing these activities to schools, PSA-Marinduque seeks to inspire the next generation to recognize the significance of statistics in nation-building.

The PSA-Marinduque expressed its gratitude to the LGU and LCRO of Torrijos for their invaluable support and partnership in making the event a success. The School Tour will continue to visit other campuses across the province, in line with this year’s NSM theme, "Advancing Data and Statistics through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation."
