20 November 2024 – BOAC, MARINDUQUE. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), continues its concerted effort to deliver Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) services to beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) through Family Development Sessions (FDS). This strategic collaboration aims to provide 4Ps beneficiaries, especially those who have yet to register for PhilSys, with convenient access to registration while attending their regular FDS.

The integration of PhilSys services into the FDS is designed to enhance inclusivity and provide individuals with a secure, valid, and universally recognized proof of identity. Beneficiaries were briefed on the transformative benefits of the National ID, including its role in simplifying transactions with government agencies, banks, and private institutions, reducing fraud, and promoting financial inclusion, particularly for vulnerable and marginalized sectors.

As part of the initiative, the PhilSys Team successfully co-located in over 20 barangays in the Municipality of Boac, as well as select barangays in the Municipality of Buenavista. These efforts led to the successful registration of 174 additional individuals in the National ID System and the authentication of more than 400 National IDs for 4Ps beneficiaries.

This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to its digital transformation goal by streamlining services and ensuring equitable access for all Filipinos. The partnership between PSA and DSWD underscores the critical importance of inter-agency collaboration in addressing accessibility challenges and empowering communities through innovative solutions.

Looking ahead, this initiative will continue to expand, with the goal of covering all municipalities in the province of Marinduque. By bringing PhilSys services directly to communities, the government reaffirms its dedication to fostering inclusivity, improving service delivery, and strengthening the financial and social empowerment of its citizens.
