12 November 2024 – BOAC, MARINDUQUE. In a proactive effort to equip staff with the necessary knowledge for the effective implementation of Republic Act 11642, known as "The Domestic Administrative Adoption and Alternative Child Care Act," the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office organized a specialized training session on 12 November 2024. The session aimed to provide PSA personnel with a comprehensive understanding of the Act, which is designed to streamline and strengthen the adoption process in the Philippines. This initiative seeks to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of vital statistics management related to adoption and child welfare.

The training was led by Chief Statistical Specialist Ms. Gemma N. Opis,  who delivered a detailed presentation on the provisions of RA 11642. Her discussion focused on the Act’s streamlined procedures, which are intended to make domestic adoption faster and more accessible. CSS Opis emphasized the law’s prioritization of the welfare of children, outlining the clear guidelines for adoptive parents, administrators, and child welfare advocates to ensure that the best interests of the child are upheld throughout the adoption process.

An open forum followed the presentation, facilitated by Civil Registration Clerk Alyza Shane L. Lecaroz. This interactive session provided participants the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions, further clarifying how RA 11642 affects their roles in civil registration and child welfare.

Through this initiative, PSA Marinduque reaffirms its commitment to ensuring that its staff is well-prepared to support the effective implementation of RA 11642, contributing to a more efficient and compassionate adoption process in the province.
