19 MARCH 2025 – GASPAR ISLAND, MARINDUQUE. Demonstrating its commitment to inclusive governance and gender-responsive public service, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) Marinduque brought vital services to the residents of Gaspar Island through its Serbisyo Caravan. This initiative, held in celebration of Women’s Month and as part of the agency’s Gender and Development (GAD) efforts, ensured that women, children, and senior citizens had direct access to essential government services despite geographical challenges.
The caravan provided crucial services, including the issuance of the National ID in paper format (ePhilID), Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) listing, and the mobile acceptance of requests for PSA-issued documents. These efforts aimed to bridge service gaps and facilitated a more inclusive approach to civil registration. Strengthening this initiative was an information dissemination session led by PSA PSO Marinduque personnel, highlighting key programs and their significance. Chief Statistical Specialist Gemma N. Opis discussed PSA mandates, Registration Officer I Mary Michelle M. Macutong provided insights into civil registration, Birth Registration Coordinator Shiela Mae D. Matining elaborated on BRAP, and Information Officer I Danica J. Gamara emphasized the benefits of the National ID System.
Beyond service provision, PSA PSO Marinduque infused warmth and community spirit into the event through "Once Upon a Gift: Tales of Kindness and Equality." AA VI Cristel Joy M. Narvas led an engaging storytelling session that inspired young learners with messages of kindness, inclusion, and social responsibility. To further brighten the day, children received simple yet meaningful gifts, along with sweet treats of ice cream, making the experience even more memorable.
Through this Serbisyo Caravan, PSA PSO Marinduque reaffirmed its dedication to bringing government services closer to the people, particularly in underserved communities. By ensuring accessibility, promoting awareness, and fostering social responsibility, the agency continues to uphold its mission of inclusive and responsive public service.
