04 MARCH 2025 – LAMESA, MOGPOG, MARINDUQUE. PSA PSO Marinduque, in collaboration with the LGU of Mogpog and the Mogpog Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO), successfully conducted Mobile Registration Services in Barangay Lamesa, Mogpog, Marinduque, on 04 March 2025. The team, including BRC Shiela Mae D. Matining, Mogpog MCR Virginia M. Sartillo and staff, along with National ID personnel, assisted individuals without records in the PSA database to ensure proper registration.
Before the registration process, MCR Sartillo provided an informative session on Civil Registration, highlighting its importance and explaining the procedures involved. BRC Matining further elaborated on the delayed registration process through the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP), offering insights into how individuals can still register births beyond the reglementary registration period. ISA I Jhon Mar Nambio presented the benefits and steps to apply for the DigitalNational ID System, informing the community about its long-term advantages.
During the event, Certificates of Live Birth (COLBs) for two individuals were processed and prepared. For registrants born outside of the province, their documents will be forwarded to the concerned PSO or LCRO for further action and processing. Additionally, the mobile registration team handled requests for PSA copies of civil registry documents through the Mogpog BREQS outlet and offered registration for the National ID System for children aged 1-4 years old, ensuring that a broad range of services is available to the local community.
This initiative aims to enhance civil registration among Indigenous Peoples, Muslim Filipinos, and the country’s most marginalized sectors. It ensures that these communities receive their National IDs, which are crucial for accessing social benefits and securing their legal identities. By improving registration rates and issuing National IDs, the project seeks to empower these individuals to claim their rights and entitlements, fostering greater inclusion and equality.
