11 April 2025 - ROMBLON, ROMBLON. The Philippine Statistics Authority Romblon Provincial Statistical Office is presently conducting the April 2025 Labor Force Survey (LFS) with Rider Questions on Tourism Employment from April 8 to 30, 2025. The LFS aimed to gather information on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. Data from the LFS provides information on major labor market trends such as labor force participation and unemployment rates, hours worked, past industries and occupations of the currently unemployed persons.

Also, the data produced from this survey will be essential to government planners and decision-makers because it will serve as basis for developing policies and programs aimed at creating and generating gainful employment and livelihood opportunities, reduction of unemployment and underemployment and enhancement of the welfare of a working person. Further, the rider questions on Tourism Employment aims to expand information gathered on tourism employment as reported to the Philippine Tourism Satellite Accounts (PTSA). Specifically, it aims to identify employment in other tourism-related enterprises, gather information on tourism employment on a local level.
Seven (7) trained statistical researchers (SRs) will be involved in the data collection and will use a Computer-Aided Personal Interview (CAPI) to eligible respondents located at the municipalities of Alcantara, Cajidiocan, Corcuera, Looc, Magdiwang, Odiongan, Romblon, San Agustin, San Fernando and San Jose.
As PSA Romblon continues to deliver relevant and reliable statistics necessary for policy formulation, it enjoins the support of the public, especially the sample households, by providing the required information to authorized PSA field personnel during interviews. All information obtained from this survey will be kept strictly confidential as stipulated in Section 26 of RA 10625 (Confidentiality of Information) and Section 8 of RA 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Confidentiality) and will not be used for taxation, investigation, or law enforcement purposes.
