13 May 2025 - ODIONGAN, ROMBLON. The Philippine Statistics Authority Romblon Provincial Statistical Office successfully conducted the May 2025 Rice and Corn Stocks Survey: Commercial (RCSS: C) and Rice and Corn Stocks Survey: Household (RCSS:H), from May 1 – 5, 2025.

PSA Romblon SR conducting interview to her respondent.
The RCSS:C and RCSS: H are monthly surveys that collect data on rice, corn grain, and corn grits stocks from commercial establishments, households, and non-commercial granaries as of 6:00 AM of the first day of each month. The data gathered, along with household and government stocks, aids in monitoring the supply and demand of the food staples, ensuring price stability and access. These surveys also support national accounts estimation, guide policymakers on rice imports during emergencies, and assist government planners and stakeholders, such as NEDA, NFA, DA, and the public, in developing social and economic policies. Additionally, the RCSS: C focuses on rice and corn stock inventories in the commercial sector at the national and regional levels, comparing current stock levels with those from the same period in the previous year and the previous month.Together, these surveys help provide a comprehensive view of the stock situation and support effective decision-making in the agriculture sector.
PSA Romblon hired 5 Statistical Researchers (SRs) to conduct personal interviews to 8 sample establishments from the municipalities of Looc, Cajidiocan, Alcantara and Magdiwang. Also, there were 167 sample households from the municipalities of Corcuera, Odiongan, San Jose, Cajidiocan, San Agustin, Looc and Magdiwang, for RCSS:H.
As PSA Romblon continues to deliver relevant and reliable statistics necessary for policy formulation, it enjoins the support of the public, especially the sample households and establishments, by providing the required information to authorized PSA field personnel during interviews.
