14 APRIL 2025 – SAN AGUSTIN, ROMBLON.  The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Romblon, through its Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) unit, conducted Step 2 National ID registration activities in the municipality of San Agustin during the first two weeks of April 2025.

This initiative aimed to reach individuals who have yet to register for the National ID System, particularly children aged 0–4 years, and individuals 5 years old and above. The registration team, composed of two Registration Kit Operators and one Registration Assistant, visited various barangays to deliver services directly to residents.

Despite ongoing system maintenance, the team successfully offered:
•    Step 2 registration which captures biometrics and validation
•    Step 3-Mode 1 issuance of ePhilID, the National ID in paper form, and
•    Assistance with generating the digital version of the National ID

Although retrieval of Transaction Reference Numbers (TRNs) was temporarily unavailable due to system maintenance, the team implemented an offline method of data input to follow up on ID statuses and unretrieved TRNs.

As a result of this mobile registration effort, 548 individuals were successfully onboarded into the National ID System database; 374 ePhilIDs were issued to registered applicants.

The activity was made possible through the support and coordination with the Barangay Local Government Units (BLGUs) of San Agustin whose assistance was vital to mobilize the community and facilitate registration activities.

Registering with the National ID System offers citizens with a secure and reliable proof of identity, providing easier access to government programs, services, and financial institutions.
