08 AUGUST 2024 – TALAWAN, TORRIJOS, MARINDUQUE. On  08 August 2024, the Provincial Statistical Office of Marinduque, in collaboration with the Torrijos LGU, successfully carried out Mobile Registration Services in Brgy. Talawan, Torrijos. Hosted at the Barangay Hall, the event featured BRC Shiela Mae D. Matining, Torrijos MCR Ronan L. Regio, and staff, who were instrumental in providing essential registration services. Individuals whose birth records were verified not available from the PSA database were assisted in registering their birth certificates. COLBs for eight registrants were processed and prepared following the necessary documentation for delayed registrations. Additionally, PhilSys personnel RKO Arthur B. Llamera was on hand to facilitate the enrollment of residents into the National ID System.

At the same time, three beneficiaries of the Birth Registration Assistance Program (BRAP) received their Certificates of Live Birth in Security Paper (SecPa) free of charge. The distribution of COLBs brought visible relief and joy to the beneficiaries, who were deeply appreciative of the free registration services provided. This program not only enabled the registration of many previously unregistered births but also helped raise awareness about the importance of civil documentation. Additionally, leaflets on civil registration were distributed to inform and educate residents about the significance of maintaining accurate civil records.

Launched in February 2022, BRAP facilitates the late registration of birth records for individuals from marginalized communities, including Indigenous Peoples, Muslim Filipinos, the poorest sectors, senior citizens, and those residing away from their birthplaces. This initiative is a significant milestone for the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), which prioritizes ensuring that all Filipinos have their births registered with the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) and are enrolled in the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).
