21 MAY 2025 – MASIGA, GASAN, MARINDUQUE. On 21 May 2025, PSA PSO Marinduque, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Gasan and through the initiative of the Gasan LCRO, successfully conducted Mobile Civil Registration Services in Barangay Masiga, Gasan, Marinduque.
National ID personnel, BRC Shiela Mae Matining, along with Gasan Municipal Civil Registrar Maria Sofia Madronio and her team, visited the barangay to assist residents in obtaining their birth certificates and to register those who had not yet enrolled to the National ID system. Paper-format National IDs were also printed and distributed to residents who had not yet received their physical IDs.
During the event, potential beneficiaries for delayed registration under the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) were identified and listed for verification in the PSA database. Additionally, the Certificates of Live Birth (COLBs) for TEN registrants were successfully prepared upon completion of the necessary requirements for delayed registration. For registrants who were born outside the province, their COLBs will be forwarded to the concerned Provincial Statistical Offices (PSOs) or Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) for proper registration.
This initiative highlights the dedicated efforts of PSA Marinduque PSO and LCRO Gasan in providing crucial civil registry services, particularly for individuals whose birth records are not readily available in the centralized database. It also exemplifies a collaborative effort between PSA Marinduque, PSA RSSO-MIMAROPA, and the Gasan LGU to enhance civil registration, with a special emphasis on marginalized communities, including Indigenous Peoples, Muslim Filipinos, and the country’s most impoverished sectors. The primary goal is to ensure that individuals within these groups can secure their National IDs, thereby improving their access to vital services and opportunities.
