The figures presented highlight ongoing efforts to ensure accurate and dependable recordkeeping. These statistics are crucial for informing policymakers, researchers, and community leaders, aiding in effective decision-making and planning for community development. The report emphasizes the importance of maintaining robust and precise demographic data to guide future actions and policies.
Registered Live Births
One of the primary vital events documented each year is the registration of live births. In the province of Marinduque, a total of 2,822 live births were recorded during the reporting period. This figure reflects the overall birth rate within the province and provides valuable insight into the region's demographic trends. According to the data illustrated in Figure 1, January emerged as the peak month, with the highest number of live births recorded at 294. This suggests a possible seasonal pattern or other influencing factors that contribute to the higher birth rate at the beginning of the year. Conversely, the month of July reported the lowest number of live births, with only 196 registrations, indicating a significant dip during the midyear period.
In terms of gender distribution illustrated on Figure 2, the data reveals that male infants constituted the majority, with 1,522 recorded births, compared to 1,300 female infants.

Registered Marriages
Another significant vital event recorded during the year 2023 was the number of marriages that took place, along with their monthly distribution. According to the data, a total of 1,045 marriages were registered in the province. February emerged as the month with the highest number of marriages, contributing 183 to the annual total. This spike in February may be associated with cultural or social factors, such as the celebration of Valentine’s Day, which traditionally encourages weddings.
On the other hand, August recorded the lowest number of marriages, with only 23 registered occurrences. This marked decrease during August could be influenced by various factors, including seasonal conditions or local customs that might deter couples from marrying during this period. Understanding these monthly fluctuations in marriage rates is essential for demographic analysis and planning related to family services and community programs in the province.

Registered Deaths
The final of the three vital events recorded in 2023 was the occurence of deaths. These were meticulously documented by the local civil registry office and compiled to provide a comprehensive overview of mortality within the province. The data indicates that a total of 1,787 deaths were registered throughout the year. According to the records, January had the highest number of deaths, with 167 occurrences, while September recorded the lowest, with 127 deaths, as illustrated in Figure 4.
The sex distribution of the registered deaths was also analyzed, revealing that male deaths outnumbered female deaths. A total of 1,008 male deaths were recorded, compared to 779 female deaths. This gender disparity in mortality is consistent with broader demographic trends and offers important insights for healthcare planning and resource allocation. Understanding these patterns is crucial for addressing public health needs and implementing effective interventions within the community.
