10 October 2024 – MARINDUQUE PROVINCIAL STATISTICAL OFFICE. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) successfully conducted the 3rd Quarter 2024 Palay Production Survey (PPS) and Corn Production Survey (CPS) from 28 September 2024 to 10 October 2024. 

The Palay Production Survey (PPS) and Corn Production Survey (CPS) are quarterly surveys that estimate production, area, yield, and other production-related data for palay and corn, respectively. Starting 2023, these surveys included collecting data on farm prices, known as "producer prices”, determined at the farm or first point-of-sale transactions.

In Marinduque, there are 253 sample households from the selected barangays across the province, which includes Agot, Bamban, Boton, Mainit, and Tumagabok in Boac; Masalukot, Morales, Pulong-Parang, Tamayo, and Tawiran in Santa Cruz; and, Marlangga, Sibuyao and Tigwi in Torrijos for PPS. As for CPS there are 161 sample households from the selected barangays across the province, which includes Duyay in Boac, Bagacay, Malbog, Sihi, Tungib-Lipata, and Yook in Buenavista, Banuyo, Dawis, and Mahunig in Gasan, Jolo and Polo in Santa Cruz, and, Dampulan, Malinao, and Sibuyao in Torrijos. To properly conduct this survey, PSA-Marinduque PSO hired five (5) Statistical Researchers (SRs) to conduct personal interviews using Computer – Aided Personal Interview (CAPI).

In accordance with this, the sample households are encouraged to participate in this nationwide undertaking by providing the necessary information and accurate information.
