GASAN, MARINDUQUE. Four individuals in the Municipality of Gasan successfully registered their Certificates of Live Birth thru the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP).  PSA Marinduque PSO, together with LCRO Gasan, has successfully conducted Mobile Registration on BRAP in Barangay Pinggan, Gasan, Marinduque last 22 January 2024. Birth Registration Agent Shiela Mae D. Matining, together with Gasan MCR Maria Sofia Madronio and staff, registered certificates of four individuals whose birth records were verified not available in the PSA database. Four individuals were registered after they completed the necessary requirements for delayed registration of live birth. Some of the registrants were born outside the province, hence, their documents will be forwarded and processed by the concerned PSO/LCRO for the subsequent registration.

At the same time, Certificates of Live Birth in SecPa were also awarded to the two beneficiaries of BRAP who are residents of the said barangay. BRA Matining, together with MCR Madronio and staff, and Pinggan Barangay Kagawad Arsenio Rolloque are present to personally award the much-awaited document through her mother. Barangay Secretary was likewise present on the said event. She is grateful for the PSA program because her daughter has been registered, and finally have a PSA copy in their hands.

Starting 2022, one of the major programs of the PSA is the implementation of the Birth Registration Assistance Project in the country. This project aims to increase the level of civil registration especially in marginalized communities such as those belonging to the Indigenous Peoples, Muslim Filipinos, and the poorest sector in the country and ensuring that they have their PhilIDs issued which is a gateway for them to claim their social benefits and legal identity.
