BOAC, MARINDUQUE. PSA Marinduque PSO, in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Boac, through the initiative of LCRO Boac, joins in the conduct of Civil Registration Services in the two barangays of Boac - Barangay Isok I and Santol, last 18 and 19 of January 2024, respectively.  

Birth Registration Agent Shiela Mae D. Matining, together with Boac LCRO staffs Lydia M. Semilla and Michelle Lecaros, were present to provide information regarding Civil Registration and the process for delayed registration under BRAP. An additional service provided by LCRO Boac is the acceptance of requests for PSA copies of civil registry documents thru BREQs. For Barangay Isok I, the activity was held in its barangay hall.

On the other hand, the Mobile Civil Registration Services was conducted in Barangay Santol’s barangay hall. BRA Matining, together with Boac LCRO staffs Via Maria Malapote, Lydia Magistrado, and Lizette Malimata were present to deliver services to the residents of the said barangay.   

Boac LCRO staff Malapote provided information regarding Civil Registration Laws and procedures on how to correct the incorrect entries on the civil registry documents. Meanwhile, BRA Matining listed the names of potential target beneficiaries under the BRAP to be submitted to the PSA database for verification.   

The conduct of information dissemination in various barangays in Boac is extremely beneficial to the citizens, as it provides them with basic knowledge on Civil Registration and other services provided by the government. Without birth registration, children may face exclusion from essential services such as healthcare, education, social services and protection. Civil registration can also be a means of empowerment and strongly linked with equity and inclusive development.
