MUNICIPALITY OF MOGPOG. On 8 April 2024, PSA Marinduque PSO, in partnership with Mogpog LGU, has successfully awarded the PSA-issued Certificates of Live Birth to the thirteen beneficiaries of Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP).

A successful initiative of Mogpog LCRO, the awarding ceremony was held in the Mogpog Covered Court beside the Mogpog Municipal Building, right after the LGU’s flag ceremonies. The said activity was attended by ROI Mary Michelle Macutong, BRC Shiela Mae Matining, Mogpog Municipal Mayor Augusto Livelo, together with Mogpog MCR Virginia M. Sartillo and personnel, to personally award the much-awaited documents to the beneficiaries of the said project.

The beneficiaries were residents of several barangays in Mogpog, including Lamesa, Balanacan, Guisian, Paye, and Malusak. Some beneficiaries were born outside of the province, hence, they were overwhelmed that their birth certificates have been finally registered, reducing the need to travel back to their hometown provinces.

As Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) is continuously implemented around the country, more and more Filipinos have benefited from this project. The BRAP aims to increase the level of birth registration, especially in marginalized communities such as those belonging to the Indigenous Peoples (IPs) groups, Muslim Filipinos, and the poorest sector in the country. It also aims to ensure that these groups are enrolled in the Philippine Identification System and have been issued with their Philippine Identification (PhilID) cards which is a gateway for them to claim their social benefits and legal identities.
