20 SEPTEMBER 2024 - MANSIWAT, BOAC, MARINDUQUE. PSO Marinduque, in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Boac, through the initiative of LCRO Boac, joins in the conduct of Civil Registration Mobile Services in Barangay Mansiwat, Boac, on  20 September 2024.

Birth Registration Coordinator Shiela Mae D. Matining, together with Boac LCRO staff Lydia M. Semilla and Lisette Malimata, were present to provide valuable information about civil registration and the process for delayed registration under the BRAP. The Boac LCRO also facilitated requests for PSA copies of civil registry documents through Boac BREQS.

Additionally, residents sought guidance on addressing errors in their civil registry documents.

The information dissemination in Barangay Mansiwat greatly benefited residents by providing crucial insights into civil registration and available government services. Without proper birth registration, children may be excluded from essential services such as healthcare, education, and social support. Civil registration is not only a fundamental right; it also fosters empowerment and is integral to promoting equity and inclusive development within the community.

BRAP was implemented in the country to ensure that all births of Filipinos are registered in the Local Civil Registry Offices and that they will be enrolled with the Philippine National Identification System specially in marginalized communities such as those belonging to the Indigenous People, Muslim Filipinos and the poorest sector in the country and ensuring that they have their PhilIDs issued which is a gateway for them to claim their social benefits and legal identities.
