As of January 17, 2024, Nine Hundred Eighty-Five Thousand Five Hundred Three (985,503) Palaweños have been successfully registered in the Philippine Identification System. This represents 89.0% of the population aged five (5) years and over, based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing, which counted a total of 1,107,143 people.
To ensure the inclusivity and registration of all Palaweños aged 5 years old and over, the Provincial Statistical Office of Palawan is continuing its efforts to conduct institutional and mobile registration in Palawan and the City of Puerto Princesa. The PhilSys registration on Wheels is roving around the city of Puerto Princesa to bring the PhilSys services closer to the public. Additionally, the PSO is strengthening purok and school-based registrations, and aims to conduct registrations for Indigenous Peoples communities and marginalized sectors.
A series of information dissemination campaigns for PhilSys has been continuously conducted for the public and relying parties. The goal is to raise awareness on the significance and benefits of the Philippine Identification System. Additionally, the campaign aims to encourage those who are still unregistered to participate in PhilSys undertakings and achieve an inclusive identification system for everyone.
