8 March 2024 – ROMBLON, ROMBLON. As part of the celebration of the 34th Civil Registration Month with a theme “CRVS: The Future of Seamless Service”, the Philippine Statistics Authority - Romblon Statistical Office attended the Kasalang Bayan initiated by LCRO Odiongan. 

A total of 16 couples were officiated by Hon. Mayor Trina Alejandra Q. Firmalo-Fabic during the ceremony at Odiongan Covered Court, Tabin-dagat, Odiongan, Romblon. In her message, she congratulated the 16 couples for deciding to tie the knot under the Kasalang Bayan Program of the LGU. 

Meanwhile, CSS Johnny F. Solis, in his message, congratulated LGU Odiongan for continuously conducting Kasalang Bayan every year. This goes to show that the LGU is in support of strengthening the smallest unit of our society which is the family. Having legally married parents is establishing a strong foundation for the family. PSA Romblon is in unity with the LGU in its aim of lowering the high illegitimacy rate for children being born. He encouraged the LGU to live on with the tradition for the benefit of children born out of wedlock be ligitimized by the subsequent marriage of their parents. 

The annual observance of CRM is pursuant to Proclamation No. 682 “Declaring the Month of February of Every Year as Civil Registration Month” issued by then President Corazon C. Aquino dated January 28, 1991.
