Registered Live Births in Municipality of Mansalay: 2022

 

 

More females were born than males

In 2022, more females (191 or 52.9 percent share) were born than males (170 or 47.1 percent share), resulting in a sex ratio at birth of 89 males per 100 females.

 

 

More births were registered late

Out of the 361 registered births, 188 births or 52.1 percent were late registered, of this, 97 births were females (51.6 percent), and 91 births were males (48.4 percent). Conversely, 173 births, or 47.9 percent were timely registered, 94 births (54.3 percent) were females, and 79 births (45.7 percent) were males.

 

 

Most number of births registered in November

In 2022, November had the greatest number of registered births with 40 in all, or 11.1 percent of all births. The months of February with 39 births (10.8 percent) and October with 37 births (10.2 percent) came next. On the other hand, May had the lowest registered number with 22 births (6.1 percent).

 

 

 

Almost all of the deliveries were attended by the traditional birth attendant

Of the total number of births in the Municipality of Mansalay, 98.3 percent were attended by traditional birth attendants and 1.7 percent of births were assisted by midwives.

 

 

Most births were delivered at home

In 2022, there were 355 registered births (98.3 percent) delivered at home and only six births or 1.7 percent deliveries occurred at any health institution, such as a hospital, birthing clinic, lying-in, outpatient care center, specialized care center, or the like.

 

 

Majority of babies were born to mothers aged 20-24 years old

In 2022, mothers between the ages of 20 and 24 accounted for 97 or 26.9 percent of all births registered in the Municipality of Mansalay. Furthermore, 90 births (24.9 percent) of all births, were from the ages of 25-29 years old.

 

 

In 2022, mothers between the ages of 15-19 had 32 births (8.9 percent), while 35-39 ages of mother had 43 births in total (11.9 percent).

 

Six out of ten registered births were legitimate children

In 2022, most registered births were legitimate children with a 205 (56.8 percent) of the total births in Municipality of Mansalay. On the other hand, illegitimate children have a fewer total number which are 156 (43.2 percent) of total births registered.

TECHNICAL NOTES

 

Live births shall be reported for registration to C/MCR not later than thirty (30) days from the date of birth.

Any report made to the LCROs beyond the reglementary period are considered late and can be entered only in the civil register after the informant complies with the requirements for delayed registration.

 

DEFINITION OF TERMS

 

Live birth is the complete expulsion or extraction from its mother of a conception, irrespective of the duration of pregnancy, which, after such separation, breaths or shows any other evidence of life such as beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, or definite movement of voluntary muscles, whether or not the umbilical cord has been cut or the placenta is attached; each product of such birth is considered live born.

Legitimate child is a child who is born to parents who are married to each other. This means that their parents are legally recognized as being married and the child is considered to be their lawful child. A legitimate child has certain legal rights and privileges that an illegitimate child may not have.
