Registered Live Births in Municipality of Pinamalayan: 2022

 

 

More males were born than females

In 2022, more males (1,182 or 52.1 percent share) were born than females (1,085 or 47.9 percent share), resulting in 109 males per 100 females sex ratio at birth. (Figure 1)

 

 

Most of the births were timely registered births

Out of the 2,267 registered births, 2,035 births were timely registered, of this, 1,068 births were males (52.5 percent) and 967 births were females (47.5 percent). Conversely, a total of 232 births were late registered, 114 births (49.1 percent) were males while 118 births (50.9 percent) were females.

 

 

Most number of births registered in September and October

In 2022, September and October had the greatest number of registered births with 256, each. The months of November with 253 births (11.2 percent) and December with 224 births (9.9 percent) came next. April, on the other hand, had the lowest percentage of births at 128 births (5.6 percent).

 

 

 

Most of birth deliveries were attended by physicians

Of the total number of births in Municipality of Pinamalayan, 96.7 percent were attended by health physician. Conversely, 2.6 percent of births were delivered by a hilot/traditional birth attendant.

 

 

Most births delivered at health institution

In 2022, there were 2,197 registered of births with (96.9 percent) delivered at health facility such as a hospital, birthing clinic, lying-in, outpatient care center, specialized care center, or the like rather than home. On the other hand, the remaining 70 births (3.1 percent) delivered at home.

 

 

Majority of babies were born to mothers aged 25-29 years old

In 2022, mothers between the ages of 25 and 29 accounted for 603 or 26.6 percent of all births registered in the Municipality of Pinamalayan. Furthermore, of the 591 births (26.1 percent) of all births, were from the ages of 20-24 years old.

 

 

In 2022, mothers between the ages of 30-34 had 397 births (17.5 percent), while 15-19 ages of mother had 304 births (13.4 Percent). On the other hand, mothers between 35-39 had 265 births in total (11.7 percent).

 

Most number of registered births were illegitimate children

In 2022, most registered births were illegitimate children with 1, 456 (64.2 percent), of this, 771 (53.0 percent) were males and 685 (47.0 percent) were females in Municipality of Pinamalayan. On the other hand, legitimate children have a fewer total number which are 811 (35.8 percent) wherein males had 411 (50.7 percent) and females had 400 (49.3 percent) of births registered.

TECHNICAL NOTES

 

Live births shall be reported for registration to C/MCR not later than thirty (30) days from the date of birth.

Any report made to the LCROs beyond the reglementary period are considered late and can be entered only in the civil register after the informant complies with the requirements for delayed registration.

 

DEFINITION OF TERMS

 

Live birth is the complete expulsion or extraction from its mother of a conception, irrespective of the duration of pregnancy, which, after such separation, breaths or shows any other evidence of life such as beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, or definite movement of voluntary muscles, whether or not the umbilical cord has been cut or the placenta is attached; each product of such birth is considered live born.

Legitimate child is a child who is born to parents who are married to each other. This means that their parents are legally recognized as being married and the child is considered to be their lawful child. A legitimate child has certain legal rights and privileges that an illegitimate child may not have.
