Registered Live Births in Municipality of Victoria: 2022

More males were born than females

In 2022, more males (297 or 52.8 percent share) were born than female (266 or 47.2 percent share), resulting in 111 males per 100 females sex ratio at birth. (Figure 1)

Most of the births were timely registered

Out of the 563 registered births, 480 births were timely registered, of this, 259 births were males (54.0 percent) and 221 births were females (46.0 percent). On the other hand, a total of 83 births were late registered, 45 births (54.2 percent) were females while 38 births (45.8 percent) were males.

Most number of births registered in January

In 2022, January had the greatest number of registered births with 74 in all, or 13.1 percent of all births. The months of November with 64 births (11.4 percent) and October with 62 births (11.0 percent) came next. September, on the other hand, had the lowest number with 15 births or 2.7 percent.

Six in ten birth deliveries were attended by physician

Of the total number of births in Municipality of Victoria, 62.0 percent were attended by physician and 21.7 percent of births were delivered by midwife. Moreover, 13.1 percent were assisted by hilot/traditional birth attendant, 3.0 percent were attended by others and 0.2 percent by nurse.

Eight in ten births delivered at health facility

In 2022, there were 469 registered births (83.3 percent) occurred at health institution such as a hospital, birthing clinic, lying-in, outpatient care center, specialized care center, or the like. On the other hand, 94 births (16.7 percent) were delivered at home.

Out of all births, eight out of ten were delivered at health facility rather than home. The topography or the parents' area influence the delivery location, particularly if the residence is too remote from the city and it takes an hour to get to the nearest hospital. Fortunately, more mothers chose to give birth at health institution where they surely received a medical assistance and services.
