
Inflation rate for the bottom 30% income households in Occidental Mindoro decelerated to -4.6 percent in May 2025 from -3.9 percent in April 2025. This is lower than the inflation rate of 12.6 percent in May 2024. Meanwhile, the inflation in MIMAROPA decelerated to -0.4 percent in May 2025, from 0.5 percent in April 2025. In May 2024 , the inflation rate in the region was 6.2 percent.
Inflation Rate by Commodity Group for Bottom 30% Income Households
In May 2025, seven (7) commodity groups recorded lower inflation rates which included Food and Non- Alcoholic Beverages (-8.1%); Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco (3.3 %); Clothing and Footwear (-0.7 %); Furnishings, Household Equipment and Routine Maintenance (0.5 %); Health (3.0 %); Recreation, Sport and Culture (1.5 %); and Personal care, and miscellaneous Goods and Services (-2.6%). Meanwhile, commodity groups that recorded higher inflation rates include Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and other Fuels (-4.8 %); Transport (-4.6 %); Information and Communication (3.2 %); and Restaurants and Accommodation Services (17.3 %). Education Services (13.0%); and Financial Services (0.0%) remained unchanged in terms of inflation rate compared to May 2025.

Inflation Rate by Food Group for Bottom 30% Income Households
The inflation rate for the food index in the province decelerated to -8.9 percent in May 2025 from 7.9 in April 2025. In May 2024, the inflation rate for the food index in the province was recorded at 18.7 percent.
Eight (8) commodities from the Food group had contribution to the downtrend of the food index in May 2025. This indicates lower inflation rates for the following food groups: Cereals and cereal products (-23%); Meat and other parts of slaughtered land animals (18.5 %); Milk, other dairy products and eggs (4.6 %); Oils and fats (-9.4 %); Fruits and Nuts (6.0 %); and Vegetables, tubers, plantains, cooking bananas and pulses (-6.2 %); Sugar, confectionery and desserts (-1.4 %), and, Ready-made food and other food products (8.4 %). Meanwhile; Fish and other seafood (4.4%); had accelerated annual growth rate as compared to May 2025.
