Volume of Production - Palay 

In January to March 2024, palay production in Palawan increased by 7.4 percent. The total volume of production was estimated at 123,862.68 metric tons, higher than the 115,357.88 metric tons reported in the same quarter last year.
 


Of the total palay production in Palawan for the first quarter of 2024, 59.3 percent of the output came from irrigated areas. The remaining 40.7 percent was produced from rainfed areas.
 


Volume of Production - Corn 

The production of corn in the province for the period January to March 2024 was registered at 5,684.00 metric tons which was higher by 3.6 percent than the 5,485.42 metric tons harvest in January to March 2023. 


Yellow corn production contributed 81.6 percent to the total corn output of the province from January to March 2024. The remaining 18.4 percent comprised the production for white corn. 
 


Area Harvested of Palay Production 

Total area harvested of palay during January to March 2024 was recorded at 31,715.00 hectares which was 7.9 percent higher than the same quarter of previous year’s area of 29,398.00 hectares. 


Palay production from irrigated areas contributed 55.2 percent to the total area harvested of the province. The remaining 44.8 percent of palay production came from rainfed areas.
 


Area Harvested of Corn Production 

Total corn area harvested in the province during January to March 2024 was recorded at 1,747.00 hectares which was 4.5 percent higher than the same quarter of previous year’s area of 1,672.00 hectares.
 

Yellow corn production contributed 74.1 percent to the total corn output of the province. The remaining 25.9 percent comprised the production for white corn.
