Volume of Production - Palay

In July to September 2024, palay production in Palawan decreased by 13.8 percent. The total volume of production this quarter was estimated at 90,188.28 metric tons, lower by 14,389.32 metric tons compared with the 104,586.60 metric tons reported in the same quarter last year.

Of the total palay production in Palawan for the third quarter of 2024, 70.3 percent of the output came from irrigated areas. The remaining 29.7 percent was produced from rainfed areas.

Volume of Production - Corn

The production of corn in the province for the period July to September 2024 was registered at 7,089.20 metric tons which was a decline of 4.0 percent than the 7,388.37 metric tons harvest in July to September 2023.
 

Yellow corn production contributed 80.2 percent to the total corn output of the province from July to September 2024. The remaining 19.8 percent comprised the production for white corn.

Area Harvested of Palay Production

Total area harvested of palay during the third quarter of 2024 was recorded at 21,655.00 hectares which was a decline of 13.3 percent than the same quarter of previous year’s area of 24,963.00 hectares.

Palay production from irrigated areas contributed 65.9 percent to the total area harvested of the province. The remaining 34.1 percent of palay production came from rainfed areas.

Area Harvested of Corn Production

Total corn area harvested in the province during the third quarter of 2024 was recorded at 2,023.00 hectares which was 3.5 percent lower than the same quarter of previous year’s area of 2,096.00 hectares.

Yellow corn production contributed 71.4 percent to the total corn output of the province. The remaining 28.6 percent comprised the production for white corn.
