13 August 2024 – BOAC, MARINDUQUE. The Philippine Statistics Authority Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) remains steadfast in its commitment to ensure that every individual has an opportunity to be part of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).

In an initiative to improve the accessibility of PhilSys registration services, the Philippine Statistics Authority Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) has implemented an enhanced registration strategy known as "purok-based registration."

This strategy entails deploying registration teams directly to local communities, specifically to "puroks”, tailored to eliminate the obstacles of distance and transportation costs that have formerly impeded some residents from engaging in the registration process. By doing so, the PhilSys Team provides more convenient and accessible registration services closer to the people, particularly for individuals with disabilities, senior citizens and even children under 5 years old.

Through the implementation of the "purok-based registration" approach, the PhilSys Team successfully reached 14 barangays across the province. This initiative led to the enrollment of 903 individuals, comprising 664 registrants aged 5 years and above, and 239 children under 5 years old. These additions contributed to the overall count of 205,307 Marinduqueños who have completed the Step 2 Registration as of 12 August 2024.

Moving forward, PSA Marinduque plans to expand this strategy to more barangays, driven by the same commitment to inclusivity and service. The office aims to continue breaking down barriers, ensuring that every Filipino can benefit from the national ID system. The agency also plans to expand its information campaigns to further educate the public on the benefits of the PhilSys, fostering greater awareness and participation.

As PhilSys continues to expand its implementation, individuals who are not yet registered are encouraged to take the initiative and visit the Fixed Registration Center or visit our official Facebook page at www.facebook/PSA-Marinduque for PhilSys Mobile Registration Schedules.
