06 October 2024 – MARINDUQUE PROVINCIAL STATISTICAL OFFICE. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) successfully conducted the October 2024 Enhanced Rice and Corn Stocks Survey: Household (RCSS: H). The survey was conducted on 01 October 2024 to 06 October 2024.

The RCSS: H is a monthly survey that collects data on palay, rice, corn grain, and corn grits stocks in households and non-commercial granaries as of 6:00 AM on the first day of the month. This data, along with stocks in commercial and government warehouses, helps monitor the stock situation of food staples to ensure supply and demand equilibrium, access, and price stability. It also guides policymakers on rice imports during emergencies and supports government planners in developing social and economic policies.

In Marinduque, there are 173 sample households from 12 barangays, including Agot, Bantad, Duyay, and Tagwak in Boac; Sihi in Buenavista; Dawis in Gasan; Candahon in Mogpog; Masalukot, Pulong-Parang, and Balogo in Santa Cruz; and, Marlangga and Tigwi in Torrijos. Three Statistical Researchers (SRs) were hired to conduct personal interviews with these samples.

Sample households are encouraged to participate in this nationwide effort by providing accurate information. In accordance with Section 19 of Republic Act No. 10173, the “Data Privacy Act of 2012,” all collected information will be kept confidential. Additionally, Section 26 of RA No. 10625 states that individual data provided to the PSA for statistical inquiries, surveys, and censuses is considered privileged communication and is inadmissible as evidence in any proceeding.
