16 April 2025 - CALAPAN CITY, ORIENTAL MINDORO. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) of Oriental Mindoro will be conducting the 2024 Survey on Information and Communications Technology (SICT) starting 21 April 2025.

The 2024 SICT aims to:

1. Gather and generate information on the availability, distribution, and access/utilization of information and communications technology (ICT) in businesses and industries across the country;

2. Measure ICT access and usage to assess and monitor the digital divide in the country; and

3. Generate core ICT indicators to track the progress of ICT development nationwide.

The major data items to be collected include ICT resources, network channels, internet connection, utilization of ICT resources, internet usage, website presence, e-commerce, use of mobile phones or smartphones, and social media accounts, among others.

Data collection is scheduled to commence in April 2025, with survey results anticipated for release in May 2026.

In this regard, the PSA urges all sampled establishments to actively participate by providing accurate and truthful information to support data-driven assessments and monitoring of the digital divide in the country. Furthermore, the survey will generate core ICT indicators that are important for measuring progress in information and communications technology.
