Typhoons damaged coconut trees leading to smaller and fewer nuts, contributing to lower production (Figure 2).

Coconut Young production decreased by 27.21 percent in 2023, reaching an estimated 477.22 metric tons. This represents a decrease of 178.42 metric tons from 655.54 in 2022 to 477.22 of 2023 as shown in figure 3.

Abaca production decreased by 11.85 percent in 2023, with an estimated 67.22 metric tons. This represents a decrease of 9.04 metric tons compared to the 2022 production of 76.26 metric tons. The low buying prices discourage the farmer from stripping the abaca resulting in lower production for 2023.

The estimated total production of kaong in Oriental Mindoro reached 35.42 metric tons. This represents a significant increase of 18.54 percent or 5,54 metric tons compared to the 29.88 metric tons produced during 2022. The local producer's good management (clearing of underbrush, thinning, and pruning leaves) contributed to this growth of production (Figure 5).

The production of coffee in Oriental Mindoro increases due to the higher demand for coffee products in restaurants, hotels, motels, pasalubong centers, and other establishments in the province as promoted by the local tourism office. The coffee Robusta increased by 72.81 percent or about 4.23 tons, coffee liberica increased by 104.24 percent or about 2.95 tons and the coffee excelsa has an increase of about 66.77 percent or about 2.95 metric tons. As shown in figure 6.

The 2023 Oriental Mindoro Cacao Production increased by 9.23 percent at an estimated increase of about 0. 79 tons compared to 8.56 tons in 2022, due to proper management brought by the growing demand for tablea, cocoa powder, liquor, and chocolate (Figure 7).

The 2023 cogon-dried leaves production in Oriental Mindoro dropped to 4.31 tons compared to 4.66 tons in 2022. This represents a decrease of about 7.51 percent or 0.35 tons due to the diminishing demand for local buyers in the province (Figure 8).

Rubber (coagulated cup lump) production declined to 2.09 tons in 2023. This represents a decrease of 49.27 percent, or 2.03 tons, compared to 4.12 tons in 2022. The decline in production was attributed to a lack of regular buyers in the province.
