14 February 2025 - ROXAS, ORIENTAL MINDORO. The Philippine Statistics Authority Provincial Statistical Office of Oriental Mindoro played a key role in the successful conduct of the Kasalang Bayan event held on 14 February 2025 at the Roxas Municipal Gymnasium. The event celebrated love and unity as forty-eight couples tied the knot, with twenty-five of these couples coming from the Indigenous Peoples (IP) communities.
Honorable Mayor Leo G. Cusi graciously solemnized the marriages, making the occasion even more memorable for the couples and their families. Registration Officer II Jomery Ann M. Navarro also attended the ceremony to witness, on behalf of Chief Administrative Officer/ Officer-in-Charge Charlyn Romero-Cantos, the event and delivers an inspiring message.
In her speech, Ms. Navarro emphasized the importance of legal marriage registration. She shared how the PSA remains committed to ensuring that all citizens, including those from marginalized communities, have access to civil registration services and vital statistics.
This event marked a significant milestone in the province, especially in providing the IP communities with the opportunity to formalize their marriages and gain legal recognition.
