05 June 2025 – PSA PALAWAN. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) announces the conduct of the July 2025 Consumer Expectations Survey (CES). The field data collection will be undertaken from 01 to 12 July 2025 where a total of 97 sample households across the province of Palawan have been randomly selected through scientific sampling procedure and will be interviewed by three hired Statistical Researchers. The face-to-face interview using Computer Aided Personal Interview (CAPI) technique will be used for the July round to account for the reference period April to June 2025.
The CES is a household-based survey on the consumers’ assessment of their family income, financial situation, and the economic condition of the country. It is administered on a sample basis at the household level drawn through a stratified multi-stage random sampling with a total sample of about 5,000 households. The CES is a joint undertaking between the PSA and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) conducted on a quarterly basis.
The core questions of the survey cover three broad areas of consumer sentiment: family finances, buying conditions, and economic condition of the country. Overall assessments of past and expected changes in family finances are supplemented by measures of the expected change in nominal family income, as well as expected real income changes. Specific items concerning expected changes in inflation, unemployment, and interest rates. Finally, several questions probe for the respondent's appraisal of present market conditions for large household durables, vehicles, and houses.
PSA PALAWAN enjoins sampled households to support the conduct of the July 2025 CES by providing the required information to authorized PSA interviewers who will visit their households.
