The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Oriental Mindoro is currently conducting the January 2024 Round of the Labor Force Survey (LFS) and 2023 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) Visit 2. These surveys are in accordance with Republic Act (RA) No. 10625 or the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013, which authorizes the PSA to prepare and conduct statistical sample surveys on all aspects of socio-economic life and Executive Order No. 352 mandating the statistical conduct of LFS and FIES.

The LFS aims to assess the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the province. Furthermore, FIES aims to gather information on the different aspects of the country’s economic conditions. One of its actual policy uses is in the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law. The collected data will be used by government planners, policy makers and administrators in formulating social and economic development plans, policies, and programs related to the labor market.

In the Province of Oriental Mindoro, 1,567 sample households will be interviewed to provide provincial level income and poverty statistics with precise estimates.

The PSA is committed to deliver relevant and reliable statistics. Hence, the agency encourages the public, especially the sample households and establishments, to participate in the various censuses and surveys conducted by the PSA.
