17 SEPTEMBER 2024 – MARINDUQUE PROVINCIAL STATISTICAL OFFICE. To facilitate the data collection for the Retail Price Survey (RPS) of selected commodities and services in September 2024, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) enlisted the support of six Statistical Researchers (SRs). These SRs were tasked the with conduct of on-site visits to six pre-identified retail outlets distributed throughout the province. The survey was conducted in two distinct phases to ensure comprehensive coverage and accuracy of the data.
The first phase occurred from September 1 to 5, 2024, during which the SRs gathered initial price data across various commodities. Following a brief period of data processing and analysis, the second phase took place from September 15 to 17, 2024. This subsequent round of data collection aimed to update and verify the earlier findings, ensuring the reliability of the final price indices.
The collected data contributes to the generation of key economic indicators, such as the Consumer Price Index (CPI), Inflation Rate, and the Purchasing Power of Peso, which are essential tools for economic planning and decision-making at both the local and national levels.
Through this rigorous data collection process, PSA-Marinduque reaffirms its commitment to deliver high-quality, timely, and accurate statistics that guide strategic economic decisions.
