23 July 2024 – TORRIJOS, MARINDUQUE. Through the initiative of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Torrijos and in partnership with the PSA-Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO), a bandilyo event was organized as part of the Information Dissemination Campaign for the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS). This event aimed to raise awareness and ensure active community involvement in the census.

In attendance were Torrijos Vice Mayor Joel Cruzado and OIC-Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Mr. Elueterio R. Raza, Jr., along with their team from the Torrijos LGU. From PSA-Marinduque PSO, Chief Statistical Specialist Ms. Gemma N. Opis, together with the CBMS PSO Core Team, were present, along with the Census Area Supervisor (CAS) and the Team Supervisors (TS) for LGU Torrijos.

Starting from Brgy. Malibago to Brgy. Mabuhay, the bandilyo covered the entire boundary of Torrijos, Marinduque. Throughout the event, primers and brochures detailing the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS were distributed to residents along the route. Audio messages were also included, encouraging residents to actively participate in the census by providing accurate information to Enumerators (EN) who will visit every household and institutional living quarters in their assigned areas. 

PSA-Marinduque PSO and LGU Torrijos continue to emphasize the critical role of accurate and comprehensive data in informing decision-making and promoting equitable development across the municipality, province, and nation. This initiative underscores their commitment to ensuring that the census results accurately reflect the demographic and socio-economic landscape of the Municipality of Torrijos and the Province of Marinduque as a whole.
