07 August 2025 - BACO, ORIENTAL MINDORO. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Oriental Mindoro successfully conducted the presentation of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System Preliminary Results for the Municipality of Baco on 07 August 2025 at the ABC Conference Hall, Municipal Compound, Baco, Oriental Mindoro.

In her opening message, PSA Oriental Mindoro Officer-in-Charge Charlyn Romero-Cantos expressed gratitude for the community's support, particularly at the barangay level. She emphasized the importance of CBMS in providing accurate data to guide informed decision-making, targeted programs, and sustainable development planning.

OIC Cantos delivered a comprehensive presentation on the preliminary results of the 2024 CBMS for the municipality of Baco. Her presentation highlighted key socio-economic indicators, including household access to electricity, clean cooking fuels, essential water and sanitation services, and levels of food security.

Additionally, map visualizations were shown, illustrating the distribution of senior citizens living alone and households with at least one member with disability, as well as the locations of evacuation centers and the number of households located within and beyond a one-kilometer buffer zone. Key barangay profile data were also presented, covering aspects such as garbage collection services, network signal availability, and information related to Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR).

An open forum followed the presentation, during which local stakeholders actively engaged in discussions and raised pertinent questions. The forum served as an avenue for clarifying the CBMS findings, exchanging perspectives, and exploring how the data could be effectively leveraged to address local needs through collaborative planning.

In her closing remarks, EnP. Ednalyn P. Aniel, Acting Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator of LGU Baco, highlighted plans to use CBMS data to guide local planning and development. She also reaffirmed the LGU’s commitment to integrating the results into its development agenda and strengthening collaboration with barangays and stakeholders.

The CBMS, implemented nationwide by government agencies and LGUs, strengthens data-driven governance. Feedback from the session will help finalize results that guide future local policies and programs.
