Marking a major achievement for the province of Occidental Mindoro, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is proud to announce that the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) team has once again successfully reached all island municipalities for Step 2 registration, issuance of ePhillD and pilot run authentication for the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development office, ensuring that no municipalities were left unregistered.

PhilSys' commitment to inclusivity and accessibility has been the driving force behind this extensive registration campaign. The PSA, along with local government units and community leaders, has worked tirelessly to bring this essential service to even the most remote and hard-to-reach areas of the province. The comprehensive coverage ensures that every resident of Occidental Mindoro, regardless of their location, can benefit from the streamlined and secure identification system. The Step 2 registration process involves the capture of biometric information such as fingerprints, iris scans, and photographs. This crucial step is followed by the issuance of the ePhillD, a digital version of the PhillD card, which can be used for various government and private transactions, promoting convenience and security for all citizens.

In Lubang, a total of 878 individuals were registered from 16 April to 09 May, 2024 for Step 2 registration, while in Looc, 424 residents completed their registration from May 10-24, 2024, marking a total of 1302 newly registered individuals for these island municipalities. During the same period, the team issued 878 ePhillDs and authenticated 1,317 4Ps beneficiaries, underscoring the thoroughness and efficiency of the campaign.

In a remarkable testament to PSA dedication, a total count of 14,735 residents of Lubang were successfully registered from January 2021 to May 08, 2024 while 9,117 residents of Looc were registered from January 2021 to May 24, 2024 marking progress towards inclusive development.

The successful reach of the PhilSys team to island municipalities in Occidental Mindoro exemplifies the PSAs dedication to inclusivity and equitable access to government services. The PSO-Occidental Mindoro are committed to ensuring that no Mindoreho is left behind, and this milestone is a testament to the unwavering efforts to provide a seamless and secure identification system for all.

The PSA extends its gratitude to the local government units, barangay officials, and community volunteers who have been instrumental in this achievement. Their collaboration and support have been vital in overcoming the logistical challenges of reaching island municipalities and ensuring that every municipality is covered.

The PhilSys registration and ePhillD issuance are pivotal in enhancing the delivery of public services, promoting financial inclusion, and strengthening the country's digital infrastructure. The PSA urges all residents of Occidental Mindoro who have yet to register to take advantage of this opportunity and be part of the PhilSys initiative.
