31 MAY 2025 — TORRIJOS, MARINDUQUE. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO), in strong partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), took another significant step toward inclusive and accessible public service by facilitating a National ID registration drive for senior citizens in Torrijos on 29–30 May 2025.
The two-day activity was seamlessly integrated with the DSWD’s social pension payout, allowing elderly beneficiaries from eight clustered barangays—Malibago, Makawayan, Buangan, Maranlig, Malinao, Marlangga, Mabuhay, and Suha—to conveniently register for their National IDs while receiving their monthly assistance. This coordinated approach not only increased turnout but also significantly reduced the travel burden for elderly residents, many of whom face mobility and health limitations.
By bringing National ID registration directly to communities during scheduled government disbursements, the agency ensured a streamlined and efficient delivery of two essential services in a single engagement. The initiative reflects PSA PSO Marinduque’s proactive strategy of embedding identity registration into existing social welfare programs to reach populations who may otherwise be excluded due to geographic or socioeconomic barriers.
As a direct result of this initiative, 178 senior citizens were successfully registered, and 34 National ID in paper format were issued. These achievements add to the province’s growing progress in implementation of the National ID program.
As of 31 May 2025, a total of 213,379 Marinduqueños have completed their National ID registration, with 166,575 National IDs in paper format already issued—underscoring the province’s firm commitment to ensuring universal access to secure and verifiable identification.
PSA PSO Marinduque continues to innovate in service delivery by embedding registration efforts into existing public service programs, aiming to ensure that no Marinduqueño is left behind in the pursuit of a more connected and responsive government.
