The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) of Occidental Mindoro is currently undertaking the nationwide Labor Force Survey (LFS) and the first visit of 2023 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) across the province. The field data collection started on 8th July 2023 and will end on 31st July 2023.
The July 2023 LFS gathers data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the members of the household. The LFS is the major source of data for labor force, employment, unemployment, and underemployment. The LFS aims to provide a quantitative framework for the preparation of plans and formulation of policies affecting the labor market.
Meanwhile, FIES is the main source of data on family income and expenditure in the Philippines. This survey provides statistics that are needed in the different aspects of the country’s economic conditions such as the measurement of poverty and the levels of living and disparities of different sections of the population and locations.
The PSA Occidental Mindoro enjoins the 1,600 sample households in the province to support the July 2023 LFS / 2023 FIES Visit 1 by providing truthful and complete necessary information. The sample households will be interviewed by professional Statistical Researchers (SRs) who are under contract with the PSA. They will ask questions about the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of each member of the sample household as well as the income and expenditure of the families.
