WHEREAS, the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013, or Republic Act No. 10625, states that the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) shall be primarily responsible for all national censuses and surveys, including sectoral statistics, consolidation of administrative recording systems, and compilation of national accounts;
WHEREAS, the System of National Accounts (SNA) is an internationally agreed standard set of recommendations on how to compile measures of economic activity in accordance with strict accounting conventions based on economic principles;
WHEREAS, the Regional Accounts of the Philippines (RAP) are being measured through the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and Gross Regional Domestic Expenditure (GRDE);
WHEREAS, the GRDP is the aggregate of Gross Value Added (GVA) of all resident producer units in the region and includes estimates on the three major industries including their sub-industries, which are compiled
and released annually;
WHEREAS, the GRDE, defined as the expenditure of residents of the region in the domestic territory plus their expenditures in other regions including the rest of the world, is intended to complement the current
series of the GRDP;
WHEREAS, in 2023, PSA will prepare estimates of the 2020 to 2022 economic performance of the MIMAROPA Region;
WHEREAS, in line with the estimation of the RAP, administrative data will also be collected from the government agencies , local government units, and the private sector;
NOW, THEREFORE, ON A MOTION DULY SECONDED, be it
RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, That the RSC MIMAROPA enjoin government agencies, local government units , and the private sector in the MIMAROPA Region to provide data support in the generation of the 2020 to 2022 Regional Accounts of the Philippines.
RESOLVED FINALLY, That all agencies concerned be copied of this resolution for information and support.
